Resident Evil Requiem achieves milestone 8 months before release

Capcom officially announced Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth installment of the major franchise, and it confirmed its February 27, 2026 release date at Summer Game Fest this year. And, now, the horror series’ X account revealed that it met a huge milestone 8 months before its release.

The upcoming game has been added to one million gamers’ wishlists. The anticipation for the new chapter bodes well for Capcom because it proved that the franchise is still thriving despite the excruciatingly long four-year wait. This also justifies the project’s high budget, with Capcom confirming that it is its most expensive game to date.

What we know about Resident Evil Requiem so far

The game will follow FBI analyst Grace, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft (Resident Evil Outbreak). The protagonist returns to the Wrenwood Hotel, where her mother died eight years prior, to investigate several viral outbreaks. While the preview doesn’t reveal much beyond that, there does appear to be a new monster in the sneak peek.
