Knull, the God of Symbiotes, is stepping into the spotlight. Fresh off his return in next month’s Venom #250, Marvel has announced Knull — the villain’s first-ever solo series, launching in January.
The five-issue limited series will be co-written by current Venom architect Al Ewing and Tom Waltz (Wolverine: Blood Hunt, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), with art by symbiote fan-favorite Juanan Ramirez (Eddie Brock: Carnage).
First introduced in Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s groundbreaking Venom run, Knull cemented himself as one of Marvel’s biggest new villains in King in Black (2020), an event that saw Earth’s heroes unite to bring him down. But the King in Black isn’t finished. Stripped of his throne and imprisoned by an unexpected enemy, Knull waits in the dark, plotting revenge. When the time comes, he’ll turn nothing itself into a weapon—and claim an even greater one to rebuild his reign of terror.
“Knull has such untapped potential, and I couldn’t wait to dig in alongside Al,” Waltz said. “We’ve got havoc, mayhem, and some big surprises planned—and Juanan’s dark, bombastic art is absolutely jaw-dropping.”
Ramirez added, “Drawing the God of Symbiotes hits hard right from page one. This series is WILD, and I can’t wait for readers to see it.”
Knull #1 arrives this January with a main cover by Knull co-creator Ryan Stegman. Preorders are open now at your local comic shop.
