TMNT Tuesday #50: IDW reveals new details for ‘TMNT’ #300 and Kevin Eastman variant

To celebrate TMNT Tuesday #50, we’ve got an exclusive reveal for TMNT #300, including new story details, the next major event The City That Never Dies, and a special Kevin Eastman variant.

For TMNT Tuesday #50, we’re celebrating the only way that feels right: with an exclusive reveal about the future of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

IDW Publishing is preparing a major celebration for TMNT #300 (technically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #20 in the current ongoing series), and we’ve got new details on what fans can expect when the milestone issue arrives.

The anniversary issue will look back across the entire history of the franchise while also launching the next big era of Turtle storytelling.

As part of the celebration, Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz are teaming up for a special backup story that takes readers on a journey through TMNT history. The story serves as a tribute to the franchise, bringing together all-star returning artists from different eras of the series to help guide readers through the Turtles’ past.

The story also connects directly to recent events in the ongoing series.

Following the multiversal chaos unleashed during the Battle Nexus event, time traveler Renet has been assigned the unenviable task of repairing the fractured TMNT timeline. Her mission sends readers through key moments in Turtle history, turning the anniversary issue into both a celebration and a story that ties together the past, present, and future of the franchise.

But TMNT #300 is not only about honoring the past.

The issue will also launch the next major TMNT event: “The City That Never Dies.” The new storyline will be written by Gene Luen Yang with artwork by Freddie E. Williams II, setting the stage for the next chapter of the Turtles’ saga.

And if fans thought Master Splinter’s return from the dead would come without consequences, they may want to think again.

“As a new member of the editorial team, it has been absolutely incredible to be able to jump into the world of TMNT right as we celebrate 300 issues! We have a lot of really exciting things planned for issue 300 that you’re all going to love.

Following the multiversal chaos of our Battle Nexus event, Renet has been tasked (well, more like punished) with cleaning up the TMNT timeline. Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz have written a walk down TMNT memory lane with the help of some all-star returning artists from each era!

But that’s not all for 300, we are also starting the next big epic TMNT event, THE CITY THAT NEVER DIES, written by Gene Luen Yang and drawn by Freddie E. Williams II. Did you really think Master Splinter could just come back from the dead with no ramifications? This is comics! No one ever just comes back from the dead! Come on!

We also have some fantastic covers from some fan-favorite TMNT artists as well as one artist who after 42 years is finally taking his slice of pizza. But all of that will be revealed soon enough…

Get ready to shellabrate!”
