Beer Tree Brewing Co’s Finding Bigfoot — a mystery is something out of place

A hint of something BIGGER in the beer world?

When most people think of the dark, powerful beast, their mind wanders to America’s west coast. But just as another, watery creature resides in my own, northeastern locale, so do there come reports of the stout, fragrant being in New York. Previous sightings had put it in Whitehall, near the state’s capital region, but are we better off Finding Bigfoot at Port Crane, by Binghamton?

The intrepid explorers at Beer Tree Brew Co have accumulated some compelling evidence. Weighing in at a massive 9% ABV, their entry into the archives barrels through the taste bud forest like an angry gorilla, yet with surprising grace. That big body is masked so you’d hardly notice it, surely a large contributor to its continued elusiveness.

Smooth and robust, indications of char and roasted malt come through. The scent of nuts and cocoa conjure the description from yet a different geography. Upon further examination, it’s clear — neither a California barleywine nor a Swamp Ape IPA, this is a Russian imperial stout.

But how could this be? An area already noted for its menagerie of cryptid beer needs not imports … unless … it’s not as simple as we think. Maybe these aren’t just animal-themed libations, but symptoms of a mystical, “high strangenessunified theory of sensory experiences. Call it … the ultrapotable hypothesis ….
