Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Crashlands are both free downloads on the Epic Games Store starting today, April 30, until May 7. If you’d like to take advantage of this offer, all you have to do is create an Epic Games Store account and enable two-factor authentication.
Epic has chosen to gift players two games that are quite different from one another.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a first-person survival horror game that despite being ten years old, will still scare the pants off you. The game will immerse you in your darkest nightmares as you explore a dark and foreboding castle filled with monsters and puzzles, all while literally struggling to hold onto your sanity. Play it in the dark and brag to your friends!
Meanwhile, Crashlands is a funny and colorful action-adventure role-playing video game that involves base building, combat, inventory management, exploration, over 500 craftable items, and a big world with tons of interesting and strange characters to interact with. This is here to act as your cool down from Amnesia and let you know that there’s still laughter and sunshine out there.
Not to worry, Epic Games will continue will more free games after these two leave for greener pastures. At 11am EST on May 7 Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Crashlands will no longer be free, but good news, another game will be — Death Coming. Developed by NeXT Studios, the non-linear puzzle game has charming animation and an unexpected Final Destination style to its gameplay as you play the role of The Grim Reaper on a mission to collect human souls.
