Disney CEO: ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 will not be delayed

Din Djarin still expected to return this October

In an interview today with Jessica Bursztynsky of CNBC, Disney CEO Bob Chapek confirmed that season two of Star Wars: The Mandalorian would still be released in October of this year.

The interview covered a wide range challenges The Walt Disney Company is currently facing due to the COVID-19 shutdown. When the discussion turned toward Disney’s film and television franchises, Chapek confidently stated that The Mandalorian would still be able to debut in October. Despite the show still being in production, all the required filming had been completed several months ago.

You can watch the full 15 minute CNBC interview (or just skip to 9:54 if you want to hear the confirmation about The Mandalorian). Chapek also gives his thoughts on how Disney will handle reopening their parks, movie theater concerns, and using the lockdown time to start pre-production for other film/television projects.

In the meantime, we can all take comfort in knowing that the return of Din Djarin and The Child will not be delayed.
