Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero showcases its gameplay and characters in new trailers

Broly, Super Trunks, Master Roshi, and more join the chaos and fun of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.

The anticipation for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the next entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, grew today as Bandai Namco gave fans a deep dive into 3D fighter’s gameplay. It showcases, of course, a bout between rivals and friends Goku and Vegeta.

Their fight in the gameplay demonstration goes just as hard as their matchups in the manga and anime. As they duke it out, we get our first look at Sparking! Zero‘s in-fight UI, costume damage, transformations, and beam struggles. Goku’s Kamehameha ultimately takes the cake over Vegeta’s Final Flash, earning him the victory. Sparking! Zero retains the kinetic gameplay of the original games while also improving it with new additions. Producer Jun Furutani highlights the faster base movement speed, revenge attacks to damage opponents mid-combo, and the ability to anticipate and deflect attacks.

The second trailer shows off the power and speed of the game’s roster. Characters from the Namek Saga all the way through the end of Dragon Ball Super were showcased, with Super Saiyan Broly (Full Power), Burter, Dyspo, Hit, Jeice, Kakunsa, Super Saiyan Kale (Berserk), Nappa, Master Roshi (Max Power), Toppo, and Super Trunks all getting the spotlight. This comes after January’s trailer that put the focus on several variations of Goku and Vegeta.

Unfortunately, none of the Sparking! Zero trailers have given us any hint of when we’ll be able to get our hands on the game. All we can do is gather the seven Dragon Balls and wish it releases sometime this year.

You can check out the trailers below. The game looks absolutely gorgeous and fun as hell. I’m sure Akira Toriyama would be proud.
