Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will feature Marvel Knights, X-Men, and Fantastic Four DLC

Marvel wants a cut of the “everyone is here” pie.

Announced during Nintendo’s E3 direct today, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, a Switch exclusive, will offer an expansion pass featuring characters and additional content from Marvel KnightsX-Men and The Fantastic Four.

Listen to the latest episode of our weekly comics podcast!

Given the lack of X-Men and Fantastic Four representation in recent Marvel games due to an internal decision to limit use of characters under 20th Century Fox’s purview, the announcement will likely come as a welcome surprise to many fans (myself included). It also opens the door wide open for the kind of fun, wacky speculation and co-op antics that the first two Ultimate Alliances lent themselves to so well.  Will we see Moon Knight or Punisher in the Knights pack? How about X-23 and Magik in X-Men or even Glob Herman? And while the Fantastic Four seems self explanatory, there’s always room for some Future Foundation antics or more!

The base game is due out July 19, 2019 and DLC in Fall 2019.
