Banjo-Kazooie is coming to Smash Ultimate

Yes, really.

While there was much speculation about the announcement of a Microsoft-Nintendo game streaming service or other hardware coming to E3 this year, the only official collaboration came in the form of a much-requested but perhaps unexpected DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros Ultimate: Banjo-Kazooie!

Set up with a Duck Hunt fake-out, the fan favorite characters are debuting as the 3rd DLC fighters for the game later this summer (no date). This keeps Nintendo’s promise that all of the DLC fighters will be characters from games that haven’t gotten representation in the series before, and also answers fan requests going back almost as far as those asking for Metroid‘s Ridley. Will we also see a Banjo amiibo? One can only hope.
