E3 2019: A sequel to ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ is in development

And this time, it appears Zelda is joining the fight.

At Nintendo’s E3 Presentation, they ended the direct on a teaser trailer for the next installment in The Legend of Zelda franchise.

Known only as “Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” for now, the trailer featured Link and Zelda exploring an underground area awash in magical energy and a creeping darkness. They stumble upon what appears to be a corpse around which the magical energy was swirling, which turns its ghoulish face to the camera before the camera cuts away. The trailer did not reveal a release date, only explaining that the game is “in development.”

One notable detail from the trailer was Zelda’s hair, which has been cut short. A small detail, but this could possibly indicate her taking a more adventuring role in the next game!
