Beta test announced for J.J. Abrams and Epic Games’ ‘Spyjinx’

Long thought dead in the water, Spyjinx lives again.

Back in 2015 J.J. Abrams’ production company Bad Robot announced — Spyjinx — a new video game project in collaboration with Epic Games. The game was slated for a 2016 release on PC and mobile devices but after missing its release almost nothing was heard about it again for several years, which left fans wondering it the project would ever see the light of day. Well, it looks like it just might.

Yesterday, a number of surprise updates were made to the games’ official website and a limited beta test was announced for iOS devices in Malaysia and Australia. If you don’t happen to live in one of the two countries that will be involved in the beta test, you can sign-up on the beta test site to find out when it the game will become available in your home country.

So what is Spyjinx? Well the game’s aesthetic and in-game screen shots look very similar to Clash of Clans and Epic Games official synopsis tells us:

Set in a secret world of espionage, thrilling heists, and crazy gadgets, Spyjinx is a unique mix of action-strategy gameplay, RPG character development, and head-to-head multiplayer.
