Star Wars Select: New Darth Maul figure image leaked

Almost immediately after its first official announcement, photos of the next Star Wars Select figure have already made their way online.

A few weeks ago, images popped up online of a new Boba Fett figure from Diamond Select. Subsequent reporting revealed this was the first in a new line of Star Wars figures that would be announced soon.

Today, exclusively revealed the first official photos of Boba Fett’s entry in the new Star Wars Select toy line (two of which you can see below). They also give a great breakdown of the figure’s aesthetic features along with some photos that compare the Star Wars Select figure to similar counterparts from Hasbro’s Black Series, Hasbro’s Marvel Legends, NECA, and many other toy brands.

I’m not usually one to tell readers to leave our site and read another one, but you really should check out Toyark’s detailed write up and gorgeous photos of this thing.

Before you do, though, let’s check out the headline item that brought you here: Darth Maul.

Earlier today, Instagram user Kylo Collector posted a photo he was sent from a friend who found something very unexpected inside a London-area Disney Store.

Yep…this Star Wars Select line is going to come out swinging for your toy dollars.

While there aren’t any in hand shots of the figure yet, the face sculpt and lightsaber effect accessories already have me pumped to get one. It’s also listed as a Disney Store exclusive, although it should be easy enough to purchase online whenever it’s officially announced.

Speaking of that, it feels like an odd strategy to roll out a big new Star Wars toy line by randomly putting them on sale before any sort of official launch. Of course, here we are reporting on it, so maybe that’s the point.

Whatever the case, it looks like Hasbro’s Black Series has some new competition for our money and shelf space.
