On Friday, Borys Kit of the Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed that Mary Elizabeth Winstead will join Rosario Dawson as part of the upcoming Ahsoka series on Disney+. She joins a supporting cast that already includes Hayden Christianson as Anakin Skywalker and Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wrenn.
Although the character Winstead will be playing has not be revealed yet, her genre film credits speak for themselves. A few of her more notable/beloved roles include Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Helena Bertinelli/Huntress in Birds of Prey, and (my personal favorite) Michelle in 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Plot details on Ahsoka have thus far managed to steer clear of even the most diligent scoopers. According to Kit’s report, production on the series is set to begin ramping up this spring. We should begin getting some information/leaks soon after that, which will hopefully tell us if Winstead is playing an established character in the Star Wars universe or someone we’ve never seen before.
Whatever the case, it’s a safe bet that whoever she ends up portraying will become an audience favorite.
