The biggest new video games releasing the week of 10/10/22

Check out what’s new in the world of video games this week.

Autumn is in full swing, and with it comes spooky season. While we wait for fall’s most promising video games, like Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and God of War Ragnarök, let’s check out what’s releasing this week.

Asterigos: Curse of the Stars (10/11)

Asterigos: Curse of the Stars will surely please fans of many genres. It’s an action RPG with interconnected maps ready to be explored. The game promises that your “every choice matters” as you explore the city of Aphes as Hilda, a warrior who has set out to save her missing father. The gameplay leans soulslike with a “lighter, dynamic combat system” with over 60 unique and challenging enemies to take on as well as over 20 bosses. Asterigos is a “double A” game that’ll retail for $34.99.

TriFox (10/13)

I knew TriFox would be a game for me when I came across a Nintendo Life article describing it as a combination of Ratchet & Clank gameplay and Tunic aesthetic. A “modern retro adventure,” TriFox will play like platformers of yesteryear. It’s fast-paced, colorful, bombastic, and fun. Three classes will be available for players to mix and match to take on enemies: the warrior, the engineer, and the mage. TriFox releases for Xbox consoles, PC, and Nintendo Switch this week, but PlayStation owners will have to wait a little longer as the PS4 and PS5 versions don’t have a release date yet,

Dragon Ball: The Breakers (10/14)

Dragon Ball: The Breakers takes the Dragon Ball franchise away from fighters for a brief spell. It’s an asymmetrical action survival game where a team of “survivors” (featuring Oolong and everyone’s favorite farmer) have to escape the map via a time machine while an ever-evolving “raider” attempts to finish them off. Raiders include Frieza, Cell, and Buu. The game is connected to the Xenoverse titles and will reward players you have Xenoverse 2 save data, though details on what this entails are limited at this time.

Also worth checking out: Dying Light 2: Bloody Ties DLC, Naiad, Witchcrafty on Switch, Scorn,  Figment 2: Creed Valley, PGA Tour 2K23, and NHL 23.
