‘The Batman’ gets spin-off ‘The Penguin’ teaser trailer set for 2024 release

HBO releases ‘The Penguin’ teaser trailer featuring Colin Farrell in ‘The Batman’ spinoff.

HBO has released an “in production” teaser trailer for the much anticipated The Penguin television show. Spinning out of The Batman, the trailer clearly shows Gotham flooded, where we left off at the end of The Batman movie. We heard rumblings of The Penguin being in production as early as 2019, so it’s exciting to see some early footage four years later!

Judging by the trailer, it appears the Penguin is taking over as the kingpin of Gotham now that Falcone is dead. Or at least he’ll try! It’s worth noting The Penguin, and by extension, The Batman, will not be part of the main DCU universe James Gunn is currently curating. How exciting is it that we get a growing universe in Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe?

Watch the trailer below.

Set for release sometime in 2024, this trailer should excite fans, especially those who loved The Sopranos and gangster movies.
