Tony Daniel shares ‘Wonder Woman’ #11 cover process – exclusive

Tony Daniel shares his excitement for working on ‘Wonder Woman’ Tom King and more.

Courtesy of Tony S. Daniel, AIPT can share his cover of Wonder Woman #11, part of a three-issue Absolute Power tie-in he’ll be drawing. Joining Daniel is Tom King on writing, with colors by Jay David Ramos.

Tom King just spoke to AIPT last week, who praised Daniel’s work on this upcoming story arc, and as it turned out, Daniel’s wasn’t planning on jumping on board until he ran into King earlier this year.

“I started this year off after finishing my creator-owned Image series, Edenwood, thinking I’d take the year to recharge and reset, do some cool covers and work on some new private projects that would help me strengthen my art skills a bit,” Daniel said. “But I ran into Tom before I was heading out of MegaCon, you know, saying my goodbyes to friends on my way out, and we got to talking about this new arc he was developing and whether it was something I might have time for. It was an easy yes for me, of course.”

Daniel continued, “I love Tom, and I love Wonder Woman, and I have always wanted to have a run on the title. Also, not to be overlooked, I feel I have done some of my best work with Tom at DC when we worked on Batman. Tom has a way of bringing out great storytelling from his artists, and his scripts are a real joy to read and work from. So I’m super excited to be onboard for this wild arc, and I can’t wait for people to see what we have cooking.”
