Marvel Comics has revealed via THR they’ve got a Godzilla crossover event coming in 2025. Titled ‘Godzilla vs. Marvel’, the six issue event takes place over different time periods, starting with a Fantastic Four one-shot. Expect Hulk, Spider-Man, X-Men, and Thor to also get their shot at a Godzilla team up.
The story kicks off with the Fantastic Four battling classic Godzilla antagonist King Ghidorah, who is the new herald for Galactus! To thwart the beast, Godzilla will team up with the Silver Surfer in order to attempt to save the Earth. Ryan North writes, with art from John Romita Jr.
“We approached them initially for our reprints, but a while after those conversations, it was clear that both of our teams were excited to do more together,” Marvel editor in chief C.B. Cebulski told THR. “These crossovers started coming together over that time, in direct collaboration with Toho, and we felt the perfect time for them was for Godzilla’s 70th anniversary next year. We’ve been thrilled to work with them on these, and we hope this will be a sign for more exciting projects to come.”
This news comes just a few months after DC Comics wrapped up their Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong crossover.
The news was teased by Marvel editor Mark Paniccia a few days ago, and while the news came out a full day later than he said, it’s finally out there!
