If you’ve been waiting for more Adventure Time Card Wars, the wait is officially over. Cryptozoic Entertainment has teamed up with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to launch the Adventure Time Card Wars 2025 Kickstarter campaign, and it’s packed with everything fans love—and then some.
The new campaign builds on the success of the 10th-anniversary Kickstarter and introduces three brand-new standalone Collector’s Packs, featuring characters chosen by fans: Flame Princess, Fern, Prismo, The Lich, Peppermint Butler, and Magic Man. Each pack brings fresh gameplay twists, new tokens, updated card abilities, and original artwork, making this a must-have for both longtime players and newcomers alike.
And that’s not all—fans will also have the chance to snag exclusive playmats, acrylic tokens, card sleeves, and even a 6.5-inch tall BMO Token Holder with removable faceplates and a bowl for all your game tokens. Plus, if you missed out on the previous Kickstarter, you can catch up on everything from the original decks to expansions like For the Glory! and the Ultimate Collection.
“When we relaunched Adventure Time Card Wars in 2023, we were blown away by the outpouring of love from fans who wanted more,” said Cory Jones, Chief Creative Officer at Cryptozoic. “We’ve spent over a year refining and expanding the game, adding new content, art, and mechanics while staying true to what players loved. We’ve even got a brand-new way to play that we can’t wait to reveal!”
For those unfamiliar, Adventure Time Card Wars is a fast-paced, easy-to-learn two-player game where players battle to become the “Cool Guy.” Using a 40-card deck, players summon creatures, play spells, and build landscapes to reduce their opponent’s HP to zero. It’s all about strategy, timing, and a little bit of chaos—just like the show itself.
Here’s what’s in the new Collector’s Packs:
- Flame Princess vs. Fern
- Prismo vs. The Lich
- Peppermint Butler vs. Magic Man
Each pack comes with two Hero cards, two 40-card decks, eight Landscape tiles, and loads of tokens. New mechanics like LavaFlat Landscapes, Burn tokens, and Attack tokens add exciting new layers to the gameplay.
The campaign also features the Lands of Legend Booster Collection, which includes 80 all-new cards to mix things up even further. And, of course, backers will unlock exclusive Kickstarter-only content, including special cards, stretch goals, and a to-be-revealed expansion.
If you’re into cool extras, the campaign offers original playmats with art by illustrator Robb Mommaerts, and that aforementioned BMO Token Holder, which might just be the cutest way to store your tokens. For even more customization, you can grab extra two-sided faceplates for BMO, because why not?
And for those feeling nostalgic or catching up, the Kickstarter also offers everything from the first campaign, including the Ultimate Collection with 12 decks, the Double Tournament game, and storage solutions for your ever-growing collection.
The Adventure Time Card Wars 2025 Kickstarter is live now and runs through February, with pledge tiers starting at $75. Items are expected to ship in December 2025, just in time for the holidays. So, if you’re a fan of Adventure Time and love a good tabletop battle, now’s the time to jump in and become the Cool Guy.

Following the successful 10th anniversary Kickstarter for the game, this campaign showcases the latest products based on the “Card Wars” episodes of Cartoon Network’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning animated series, Adventure Time. Backers can preorder three new standalone Collector’s Packs featuring Heroes fans voted for: Flame Princess, Fern, Prismo, The Lich, Peppermint Butler, and Magic Man. The gameplay includes fresh twists, new tokens and card abilities, and all-new game cards with original art. In addition, backers will be able to accessorize their experience with individual playmats, acrylic tokens, card sleeves, and a large BMO Token Holder. Newcomers to the game will be able to get all the previous game content they missed out on from the prior Kickstarter.
“When we brought back Adventure Time Card Wars at the end of 2023, we were blown away by the reaction of fans, who were passionate about both the show and the game and wanted more,” said Cory Jones, CCO of Cryptozoic. “We have spent over a year crafting the next evolution of the game, keeping everything players loved and amping it up with fresh content, art, and gameplay. As fans will see, we have some big surprises, including a brand-new way to play that will be revealed.”
Adventure Time Card Wars features easy-to-learn rules as two players go head to head, spending Actions to defeat their opponent and become the “Cool Guy.” Using a deck of 40 cards, each player plays Creatures onto their Landscape tiles to attack their opponent, Buildings to enhance their Landscapes, and Spells to gain an advantage. The first player who reduces their opponent’s Hit Points to 0 wins.
The three Adventure Time Card Wars Collector’s Packs in the campaign focus on pairs of characters: Flame Princess vs. Fern, Prismo vs. The Lich, and Peppermint Butler vs. Magic Man. Each standalone game comes with two Hero cards, two 40-card decks, eight Landscape tiles, and tons of tokens. New additions to the gameplay include LavaFlat Landscapes, Burn tokens, Attack tokens, and HP Trackers.
By pledging to any of the tiers, backers will get numerous exclusive cards that will be unlocked, as well as a to-be-revealed expansion, all of which will be included inside a special Kickstarter box. They can also pledge for the Lands of Legend Booster Collection, which has 80 brand-new cards offering new gameplay possibilities.
In addition, the Kickstarter will offer four individual playmats featuring original Adventure Time art by illustrator Robb Mommaerts.
Backers will also be able to get a BMO Token Holder that will measure 6.5 inches tall and includes a removable two-sided faceplate and a removable bowl to hold all the different tokens for the game, including the acrylic tokens available in the campaign. Fans have the option to purchase an additional pack of two-sided faceplates for BMO.
Lastly, fans who missed the last Kickstarter will have access to all the old favorites: the Ultimate Collection, containing the 12 decks from the initial six Collector’s Packs and lots more, Double Tournament game, For the Glory! Booster Collection, and Collector’s Storage Box that can fit over 2,000 sleeved cards.
The Adventure Time Card Wars 2025 Kickstarter starts today and runs until February, with pledge tiers starting at $75. Stretch goals, if unlocked, will add numerous additional cards. Preorder items are expected to be delivered to backers in December 2025.
