Advances in technology have made certain things easier and more accessible for the common person. That also includes making comics. There are plenty of digital displays that are helpful tools when making art, and the recently announced Wacom One 14 is one that can be used at the start of creative journey.
The Wacom One 14 possesses many of the advantageous qualities of other products in the line such as an HD IPS display that includes anti-glare and anti-fingerprint coating. There is also a natural paper like feel while drawing thanks to the use of direct bonding that limits parallax. The pen itself further minimizes parallax while also providing low latency and natural tilt recognition. It is also battery-free, lightweight and equipped with two customizable buttons.
Setup is easy and straightforward with a single USB-C cable for PCs, Macs, and Chromebooks that support DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4. Don’t fret if your current computer USB-C port is different. The use of a simple power converter can remedy the situation. Or if your computer doesn’t have a USB-C port, the optional Wacom Converter provides HDMI and USB-A connectivity.
Also included with the Wacom One 14 is a bundle of versatile programs to help on your creative journey. Clip Studio Paint Pro, Magma, and Concepts support drawing and comics, Passpartout 2 adds a fun interactive art experience, Foxit PDF Editor supports study, work, and everyday tasks, and Skillshare provides access to online lessons from creative professionals.
Some of the biggest improvements to the latest addition to the Wacom One line relates to the 14’s size. It has a larger screen than before at 14 inches providing more room for sketching, drawing, and illustration. Despite the bigger working surface, the device weighs less than the previous model. It is 750 grams making it easier to carry around and set up.
The Wacom One 14 will be available this fall through Wacom’s eStore and select retailers worldwide.
