#5: Is Ted OK? #5
‘Is Ted OK?’ #5 explodes your entire head with human discourse and sci-fi marvels
By pulling way back on the accelerator, this issue of ‘Ted’ gives us information and character work aplenty of what’s surely going to be an extra explosive finale.

#4: Justice League Unlimited #20
‘Justice League Unlimited’ #20 is an entertaining clash of egos
Gorgeously illustrated by Dan Mora and Fico Ossio, Justice League Unlimited #20 is an entertaining clash of egos. Mark Waid’s characterization of all the main players is the true star of this show. Waid’s Batman and Luthor are outstanding. These two geniuses chew up every sequence they’re in. Moreover, the story’s B-plot following Mr. Terrific, Guy Gardner, Metamorpho, and Hawkgirl as they escape Powers Planet promises to be exciting. However, none of this would be as successful without Dan Mora and Fico Ossio’s artwork. This issue’s script does an excellent job of allowing the art to convey the action without the need for superfluous exposition.

#3: Escape #8
‘Escape’ #8 is among the strongest ongoing series on shelves today
Escape #8 is another remarkable entry in a series that continues to exceed expectations. Remender refuses to let Milton’s story settle into familiar war comic territory, instead focusing on the lingering consequences of sacrifice, survival, and guilt. Every decision feels meaningful, and every victory carries a cost. Acuña matches that emotional depth with some of the most effective visual storytelling in comics today, creating scenes that are both beautiful and nerve-wracking. The result is a comic that keeps readers locked in from beginning to end while reinforcing why Escape deserves to be considered among the strongest ongoing series on shelves today.

#2: Ultimate Endgame #5
Ultimate Endgame #5 is the perfect end for the Ultimate Universe, delivering a profound story about the power of stories and wrapping up an epic that’s been two years in the making. Whether you’ve been on the ride since Ultimate Invasion or you’re just coming to the party, this is a comic you need to read.

#1: Absolute Wonder Woman #21
‘Absolute Wonder Woman’ #21 drops a major bombshell in ‘Season of the Witch’ aftermath
On the whole, Wonder Woman #21 is a well-paced, self-contained story for the most part. The only drawback is that it doesn’t recap an earlier storyline to fully contextualize Diana’s newest conflict, but it’s also not a huge detractor from enjoying the rest of the new mini-arc. It also does well to build towards the shocking cliffhanger ending that sees Diana’s most trusted ally suddenly betray her, which only creates an exciting, strong hook for the next issue.
