‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BlendJet 2s’ totally radical review

‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BlendJet 2s’ is a radical blender.

The Ninja Turtles may prefer pizza, but I’m sure if Mikey decided he wanted it blended, he’d check out the BlendJet TMNT design. Courtesy of BlendJet, I got to check out the limited edition Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BlendJet 2s and it impresses.

This model blender has two Ninja Turtles options: ‘Shredder’s Mind’ or ‘Colorful Ninjas.’ I got my hands on the ‘Shredder’s Mind’ model, which brought me back to my childhood. Sporting the TMNT cartoon iteration of the Ninja Turtles, it’s as nostalgic as it comes.

Regarding the design, I liked the heavy use of purple, and the pizza on top is a nice touch. It’s unfortunate the plugin location is right over Raphael’s chest, but they likely wanted the cool light and power button front and center.

As far as power–which I think is what you need in a blender, let’s be honest–this thing is powerful. It charges with a USB cable which they supply. BlendJet says it can last 15+ blends per 1 hour charge, and so far it lives up to that. It holds a charge after a week of blending, blending once a day.

There’s a handy lighting guide, so you’ll know when to charge, too.

Given the kiddy look, it’s nice to know there’s no way a child could cut their fingers on this thing. It has a special magnet strip that won’t let the blade turn on when it’s not secure.

Aside from that, this is a no-fuss blender. The top screws easily on and off to put in your fruit and milk, and the bottom screws off easily for cleaning. Inside the blender are rubber washers which are relatively easy to press in or pull out with a fingernail or butter knife. There’s a channel that allows it to stick and stay inside.

The only other feature not mentioned yet is the strap, which is a sturdy and thick rubber. This won’t break off after thousand hours of use. If you’re on the go–and this is a “portable blender,” after all–the strap is easy to connect to a backpack or give you extra support in your hand. The general width is easy to grip as well.

Overall I really like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BlendJet 2s. Retailing for $59.99, the price matches similar-sized blenders like the Ninja and offers a slick pop culture style. A portable blender does require a specific need since blending at home and putting that into a container is the usual option for most. But if you’re on a boat, or need to blend at work and can’t lug a full-size blender with you, this is a great option.
