Marvel reveals ‘Alien’ #1 gets second printing and new cover by Larocca

‘Alien’ #1 sells over 300,000 copies on its first print run.

It was bound to happen, but Marvel Comics has confirmed Alien #1 is headed back to print as the first issue sold out with over 300,000 copies. Fans who missed the first issue at their comic book shop can pick up the second printing on April 28th complete with a new second printing cover by Salvador Larocca. It’s no surprise, in my review I point out writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Salvador Larocca seem to understand what makes Alien work.

“Anyone who looks for it in my earlier horror work will see the influence of the first two Alien films, but I don’t know if Marvel quite understood my love for the franchise when they gave me that call,” Johnson told SYFY Wire. “I can definitively promise readers that they’re getting stories written by the biggest Alien fan imaginable, and that I’ll always have more stories to tell as long as they want me on the book.”
