Jeremy Adams’ The Flash tie-in series will continue into The Flash #786 (originally set for #783-#785) while new one-shots Dark Crisis: The Deadly Green #1 and Dark Crisis: The Dark Army #1 were also added. Learn more about Adams’ tie-in story in our exclusive AIPT Comics podcast interview.

The event officially kicked off this week with Road to Dark Crisis, which we rather liked here at AIPT.

The Great Darkness is growing its reach. With two new one-shots and additional tie-in issues, this year’s Dark Crisis event just got bigger.

The Supersons are going on separate missions to stop Pariah’s attacks on the Multiverse! In October’s Dark Crisis: The Deadly Green #1, Jon Kent joins forces with Swamp Thing, John Constantine and more to explore the spread of the Great Darkness’s influence on the Multiverse and beyond. While in November’s Dark Crisis: The Dark Army #1, Damian Wayne, Doctor Light and a ragtag team of heroes cross enemy lines to steal control of the Dark Army from Pariah. But in the process uncover a secret about Doctor Light’s place in Crisis on Infinite Earths that rocks the future of the DCU! Creative talent teams for both issues will be announced at a later date.

“Thank you to all the readers and retailers that have shown their support and excitement for Dark Crisis,” said writer Joshua Williamson. “We are growing the story with these new and crucial issues to explore the massive impact that Dark Crisis will have on the DC Universe going into 2023. I can’t wait for fans to get their hands on Dark Crisis #1 next week to see the beginning of this journey.”

Originally slated to tie-in to issues #783-#785 of The Flash, the Dark Crisis event will now include The Flash #786 by writer Jeremy Adams and artist Amancay Nahuelpan. Wally West is exhausted, and has been running nonstop since even before he had to step up in the wake of the loss of the Justice League. But, as he’s figured out what he needs to do to free Barry (while also keeping Wallace from falling into Pariah’s plans), he’s also long overdue for a chat with Linda.

Also revealed for the first time is that I Am Batman #15 from writer John Ridley, releasing in November, will connect to Dark Crisis. Story details and full creative team will be announced at a later date.

DC is revealing a new Dark Crisis #2 open to order homage variant cover from Rafal Sarmento (Action Comics) paying tribute to Justice League of America #21 (Crisis on Earth One). Originally released on August 7, 1963, Justice League of America #21 was written by Gardner Fox, artwork by Mike Sekowsky, inks by Bernard Sachs and the cover was done by Ira Schnapp, Mike Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson. DC UNIVERSE INFINITE premium subscribers can read the issue here.

Justice League: Road To Dark Crisis is now available and Dark Crisis #1 from Joshua Williamson and Daniel Sampere will be available at comic book shops on Tuesday, June 7.
