Today, it was officially confirmed on StarWars.com that actress Genevieve O’Reilly would reprise her fantastic turn as Mon Mothma in Rogue One for the the upcoming Cassian Andor series on Disney+.
This news was accompanied by confirmations that Stellan Skarsgård (Dr. Selvig in the Thor/Avengers movies) and acclaimed stage actors Kyle Soller and Denise Gough would be joining the cast as well. Variety already scooped Skarsgard and Soller’s casting last week, but news of O’Reilly and Gough signing on was a welcome Friday evening surprise.
The group of formidable actors joins a cast that already features Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk reprising their roles as Cassian Andor and K-2SO, respectively.
StarWars.com also confirmed that the new series will take place five years before the events of Rogue One.
