All Things All Elite

All Things All Elite: August 22nd, 2020

It’s been a week and a half since the last episode of Dynamite. Get caught up before All Elite Wrestling’s episode of Dynamite tonight!

Hello and welcome to a weird day to be having Dynamite! Before tuning in at 6 PM tonight make sure you review what has happened in the week and a half since the last episode of Dynamite. In the event that you haven’t heard, TNT delayed AEW’s flagship show due to the NBA playoffs.

Tonight on Dynamite, MJF continues his attempts to ban Jon Moxley’s finishing move, the Paradigm Shift, and the AEW women’s Deadly Draw Tag Team tournament’s final round is on the card, as opposed to the rest of the tournament which aired on YouTube.

Being the Elite

  • Best Friends once again make an attempt to kill Brandon Cutler, they approach him and Cutler thanks them for the cake, then asks if they have a bit yet for BTE. They look around, realize there’s way too many people around and decide to, delay again and hold back on murdering him for now.
  • Marko Stunt, represented by Alex Marvez, takes Santana and Ortiz to court. Marko claims that the rumors last week that Proud and Powerful spread has made his Tinder profile toxic. Dasha, as judge, rules in favor of Santana and Ortiz.
  • Christopher Daniels asks the Bucks if they’ve seen Cabana, notes he seems to have been missing for weeks. Daniels leave but the Bucks continue to wonder about Colt. Suddenly they realize Kenny has been talking about murdering Colt and they notice aviators and a leather jacket in the room (what Kenny used to wear for his cleaner gimmick).
  • Christopher Daniels tries to cut another infomercial style segment. This time he’s talking about mortgages. He quickly becomes confused by the jargon and realizes he doesn’t understand what he’s actually advertising.
  • On this week’s 50+ seconds for 50+ Matt Jackson enlists the help of Cutler. Cutler builds a computer for the segment.
  • Reynolds and Silver talk about who they want to try to recruit next to The Dark Order. They throw around names like Sinbad, Tom Arnold, and Pauly Shore. Peter Avalon pops up and asks if he can join The Dark Order. Reynolds/Silver suddenly try to find excuses not to recruit Peter finally admitting they just really hate him and don’t want him in the group. Peter asks that they at least don’t mention this to Brandon Cutler who then says from behind the camera that of course he saw that. He’s been filming it for BTE.
  • Brodie Lee gives Evil Uno a chance to redeem himself and be better at hitting people with papers. Uno fails miserably.
  • Colt Cabana awakens and stumbles around looking for medical care.

Women’s Tag Tournament: The Deadly Draw

  • Brandi continues her new addition to her gimmick where she constantly carries her action figures around, showing off that she’s the only woman in the promotion to have one.
  • Bi & Lil’ Swole vs. Nightmare Sisters. Allie and Brandi continue to slowly switch places as Allie is the one who is actually stepping up in the match and Brandi is more cowardly and worried about herself but the team works well together against their opponents, isolating Lil’ Swole. Brit Baker distracts Big Swole letting Allie get the pin on Lil’ Swole.
  • Ivelisse & Diamante vs. Tay Conti & Anna Jay. The match was pretty even until the last five minutes when Ivelisse and Diamante simply got total control of the match and just dominated.
  • Backstage, Brandi once again is focused on herself during the post match interview.

AEW Dark

  • Veda Scott commentating Dark this week, probably will be seeing her as part of the commentator team more.
  • Kip Sabian def. Michael Nakazawa
  • Sonny Kiss & Joey Janela def. Shawn Dean & Frank Stone
  • Sean Spears def. Will Hobbs. Sean throws Hobb’s leg against the ring post after the match and then loads up his glove with metal hitting Hobbs with it.
  • Ricky Starks cuts a promo on Darby Allin, claiming he’s going to drag Allin’s face against asphalt and that this will be Allin’s last match.
  • The Hybrid 2 def. The Initiative.
  • Abadon def. Red Velvet.
  • Dark Order def. Ryziin, D3, & Faboo Andre. Colt was part of the Dark Order team along with Silver and Reynolds, they of course picked up the win further establishing Colt’s position within the Dark Order.
  • Ricky Stars def. Lee Johnson.
  • Santana & Ortiz def. Baron Black & Tony Donati.
  • Lance Archer def. Jon Cruz & Jesse Sorensen.
  • Billy Gunn def. Alan Angels.
  • Lucha Bros. & The Bucher and The Blade def. Private Party & SCU

Road To

  • Tony interviews Brandi, asks her about the tournament and fan’s opinion of her. She of course has multiple action figures with her.
  • Sammy cuts a promo on Hardy saying he’s sorry. And then of course follows up by saying he’s sorry he didn’t hurt Hardy worse.
  • Cody discusses Brodie Lee and how the man’s confidence now has is dangerous and it’s causing Lee to lash out at people.
